Rachael Lewis Anna helps clients mitigate risk associated with managing large volumes of data. Rachael leads the firm’s Electronic Discovery and Information Management practice and is a Director of Nextra Solutions, a division of Nexsen Pruet that provides technology solutions to clients. Through Rachael’s experience dealing with discovery issues in complex litigation and government investigations, she has developed substantial knowledge in the area of electronic discovery. She is National Discovery Counsel for a Global 500 company. Rachael advises clients daily regarding electronically stored information (ESI), information management, and developing plans to handle discovery in a variety of matters.

Rachael’s practice also focuses on antitrust and competition issues.  She is experienced evaluating whether transactions will raise competitive issues with federal and state antitrust enforcers. She has defended numerous clients against antitrust claims and in government investigations led by the Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), or state authorities.

Electronic Discovery and Information Management Practice

Nexsen Pruet’s ESI Services Group delivers customized, efficient, and cutting edge solutions to our clients’ electronic discovery and data management needs. We offer a broad range of services, creative thinking, and proven technical proficiency to assist clients through every stage of discovery. We work with our clients to develop strategies that are reasonable and defensible, within time and budget parameters that meet their needs.

Our ESI group can work with clients to develop internal best practices for managing electronic information. These best practices can help reduce the burden, cost, and business disruption associated with discovery in litigation or government investigations.  Our attorneys and technology professionals counsel clients on records retention policies and practices, early case assessment and strategy, and litigation readiness.

We advise clients on preservation obligations, data collection processes, and review strategies that are defensible before courts or government bodies. We utilize sophisticated and advanced technology—including clustering, concept based analytics, and predictive coding—to increase the speed of review projects. Our document review tools are focused on project management and incorporate state-of-the-art technology to increase efficiency and accuracy during review.

Outside of her family and professional career, Rachael has two passions:  travel and sport.  She has traveled in over thirty countries and her adventures have included diving with great white sharks, sleeping in close proximity to African lions, overlanding through 6 countries in Africa, hiking and homestays in Vietnam and Thailand, and camping in the Australian Outback.  Rachael is an avid athlete, having played soccer for Wake Forest University and then professionally for the Santos Futebol Clube in Brazil.  She has retired from competitive athletics but stays active with various sports including her new interest in half-ironman distance triathlons.
